pulled pork recipe

Authentic southern style pork shoulder is smoked over wood fired coals on low heat for a long cooking period until the meat literally falls off the bone and can be pulled apart using the hands. The tenderized meat is served alone or on sandwich buns. The pork shoulder can alternately be interchanged with other large cuts of pork. The pork can be covered with a variety of rubs and cooked using different wood coals, meaning there is no end to the fun you can have with cooking pulled pork and you can enjoy it in a number of different styles.

Traditional recipes call for pork shoulder to be smoked over coals at low temperatures for hours. The slow cooking process breaks down the connective tissue and melts off the fat. You can employ a smoker at home or use your barbeque as a smoker. Non-barbeque methods of slow cooking the pork in a conventional oven or in a slow cooker are two more methods of enjoying this true southern comfort food at home.

PulledPorkRecipe.net presents dozens of recipes designed to let you achieve that southern style smoky barbeque flavor using the tools you have at home. Ranging from traditional smoked pork produced from hours in the smoker to pork slow cooked in the crock pot, or slow roasted in the oven. Recipe pages offer a wide variety of tips on ingredients, cooking techniques and much more. Now you can enjoy making pulled pork any time of year.
